About By Kate Blondet
So, what is this blog about—and how can it help you always be in the right place at the right time and enjoy traveling even more?
Let’s start with a quick introduction to the person behind the blog.
My name is Kate Blondet, and I currently live between the UAE and France. I’ve been working in the fashion and lifestyle media industry for around eight years. I wasn’t a journalist per se, but I’ve always had a passion for writing—which is exactly why I finally decided to launch this blog. Yes, in 2025. Yes, at a time when everything is about fast, short-form content. But I still believe that quality content—the kind that brings actual value—will never go out of style.
And while moodboards help you visualize, sometimes a piece of writing from an insider can transport you somewhere better than a photo or a reel. Reading isn’t just about the author; it’s about what it stirs inside you.
I travel a lot and somehow always happen to be with insiders wherever I go. Over time, I’ve collected an arsenal of hidden gems and “if you know, you know” spots—so I have a lot to share. But this blog isn’t just about fancy destinations. It’s about ambiance, atmosphere, and how to dress for it. Sometimes, my curated outfit selections are here to help you prep for a trip and look like you belong—even if you don’t. Other times, they’re just my way of translating the mood of a place into visual storytelling.
I truly believe the fun of traveling starts long before you get on a plane. That feeling of anticipation—choosing the hotel, making restaurant reservations, planning your route, and, of course, building the perfect vacation wardrobe—is part of the magic.
But this blog isn’t about packing lists or postcard clichés.
Think of By Kate Blondet as a visual style journal, a cultural decode, and an invitation to dress with intention—even if it’s just for room service.
Expect hidden gems, insider tips with a touch of irony, and a curated selection of chic-on-a-budget finds.
In the Room Service Ready section —I pick the most Instagrammable hotels—the kind of places that make you want to dress up even if you don’t plan on leaving. Whether it’s a five-star icon or a hidden budget stay with serious aesthetic appeal, these are the spots where the room is half the experience.
I support conscious shopping and always recommend checking your wardrobe first—sometimes the best look is already waiting for you.
